The ‘Golos’ movement received the response from the Prosecutor’s Office in Ust-Labinsk district of Krasnodar region concerning the document published on the website of Voronezh rural settlement ‘Headquarters for the Election to Legislative Assembly of Krasnodar Region, scheduled for October 14, 2012’, reports ‘Golos Kuban’.
The District Prosecutor's Office conducted an audit as a response to the claim and issued a warning to the head of the rural settlement Victor Macko, pursuing compliance with the election law.
‘It is a very strange reaction to the crime committed more than 3 years ago, – commented the prosecutor's response David Kankia on his Facebook page. - We have drafted a new claim to be submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office in Krasnodar region to bring the perpetrators’ liability into the criminal and administrative realm’.
We would like to remind that David Kankia, the coordinator of the movement advocating for the rights of voters ‘Golos’ in Krasnodar region, discovered on the website of one of Kuban villages administration the actual scheme of illegitimate campaign.
The instructions designed for the officials that were not in compliance with the law were attached to the official document.
The head of rural settlement Victor Macko, who was responsible for liaising with the parliamentarians, parties, and his deputy, Liubov Gedz were among those who joined the headquarters staff. Gedz was in charge of liaising with the precinct election commissions, territorial local government officials and law enforcement agencies, as well as providing timely updates. The director of finance department of local administration Yana Verdinskaya as well joined the headquarters staff; her responsibilities included liaising with the media, moreover she had a task to ‘to conduct daily monitoring of the Internet websites’ for mobilizing ‘counteraction against the online opposition community’.
