‘Golos‘ board member Arkady Lyubarev, and Ludmila Kuzmina, chairman of the Samara branch of ‘Golos‘, were removed from the registry of media outlets that perform the functions of a ‘foreign agent‘. This information appeared on the Ministry of Justice website; the agency did not notify the individuals themselves. This is a precedent-setting case.

The head of the ‘Golos‘ branch in the Samara region, pensioner Lyudmila Kuzmina, became a ‘foreign agent‘ because in 2019 she received 15 thousand rubles as a payment for rent—her tenant was a French citizen, Julien Raphael. Arkady Lyubarev, a member of the ‘Golos‘ Council, received 20 thousand rubles as royalties for three publications on the news website Meduza, based in Latvia. Incidentally, Meduza itself had not yet been recognized as a ‘foreign agent media‘.

Arkady Lyubarev explained to «Zakon» that he applied for exclusion from the register because he had not received foreign funding for a year.
